What kind of Head Teacher do you think we need to find?

Buddha drawingWe asked children across the school what qualities they think are important in a new Head Teacher. Here are some of their comments:

“A Buddhist who knows how to make mindfulness and teachings like that interesting and fun for us.”

“To have an understanding of children’s feelings and really listen to us and take what we say on board.”

“Kind, respectful and sweet-voiced.”

“Encouraging and a bit sporty and have some new ideas but also keep the good things that we do here the same.”

“Maybe a girl – we’ve never had one before and it would be exciting to try something different.”

“Someone who’s kind in the way they think and how they speak to people.”

“Funny.”

“Clever and smart – someone who knows a lot of stuff.”

“Young and smiley. Someone who’s happy.”

“Someone who’s calm and who doesn’t get scary angry with people. Someone kind and good-hearted, and good at their job.”

“Someone who enjoys sport.”

“Anyone really, boy or girl, as long as they are kind.”

“Someone Buddhist – because we are a Buddhist school after all, even a monk maybe.”

“My Mum!”
